Description of the problem
The customer required a proposal for a solution to glue a series of designer bathroom accessories. The requirement is to use shaped cut-outs. The emphasis is mainly on high final strength and simplicity of application. The customer will apply the final product.
Our solution
Our sales representative designed a solution with high-strength VHB tape for surfaces that are difficult to bond. For applications of this type, it is especially important to pay attention to application discipline. The glued surfaces must be properly prepared for gluing. For a bathroom accessory made of stainless steel, it is necessary to degrease with isopropyl alcohol, roughen it with sandpaper and degrease the material again. The material glued in the bathroom (tiles, etc.) must be degreased, again with isopropyl alcohol, and then a primer must be applied, which is a special primer that is used before applying double-sided adhesive tapes to difficult-to-bond surfaces, as it increases the tapes’ adhesion.
It was proposed as a complete solution, delivered in a full package, which included: cut-outs of double-sided adhesive tape, a 0.66 ml ampoule of primer and a wet wipe soaked in isopropyl alcohol.
